Data controller
The data controller is the University of Dubrovnik, Branitelja Dubrovnika 41, 20000 Dubrovnik, Croatia. The Centre for IT Support, Cybersecurity and E-learning operates this website as part of the University.
Data we process
When you browse the website, the server may record technical data such as the IP address, request time, requested address, browser type and response status. These records are used for security, troubleshooting and reliable operation.
This website has no public message form. If you choose an email or Helpdesk link, you submit data through that system and its processing rules apply.
Purpose, legal basis and retention
Technical data is processed only as necessary to protect the website, maintain service availability and perform the University’s tasks. Processing is based on the performance of a task carried out in the public interest under Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation and, where applicable, compliance with a legal obligation under point (c). Standard server logs are rotated regularly and are not retained longer than necessary for security and troubleshooting. An individual record may be isolated and retained longer only when required for handling a security incident, an official procedure or a legal claim.
Cookies and external links
The public website does not set analytics or marketing cookies. Fonts are loaded from the University server. The protected administration sign-in and interface use an essential session cookie for secure editor authentication; this cookie is not used for tracking and does not require consent.
Videos from the CARNET Meduza platform are not connected when the page first opens. Only after you select “Load video” does the browser connect to CARNET Meduza, receive the usual technical request data and allow Meduza to use its own essential cookies. You may instead open the video on the separate CARNET Meduza website. Links to Helpdesk, CARNET, the University Computing Centre, Microsoft and other external services lead to separate websites with their own privacy policies.
Recipients of data
Technical logs may be accessed only by authorised University personnel and contracted system maintenance or hosting providers, solely to the extent required for their work. Data is disclosed to other recipients only where required by law or necessary to protect the system and the rights of the University or its users.
Your rights and contacts
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of your personal data, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency. For data protection questions, contact the University Data Protection Officer, Matej Trpin, at matej.trpin@unidu.hr.
